World Kindness Day on November 13th once again proved to be the beating heart of the Fight For Kindness initiative — and this year, its pulse was felt more strongly than ever.
This edition of Fight for Kindness has moved us in ways we didn’t expect. It was intense, surprising, and incredibly powerful — proof that when an idea is rooted in genuine intention, it can grow with unstoppable energy.
Eight of the twenty exhibitions took place simultaneously in eight different cities. We’re not talking about huge numbers — we’re talking about huge motivations. Designers, students, communities, and individuals coming together with one shared purpose: to promote a culture of kindness.
We know that letters alone won’t change the world.
But the people who use letters to reflect, create, and take action — they will. They change a small but essential part of their inner world by dedicating time and talent to a value that is delicate, precious, and often overlooked.
They change the communities around them, who witness the creation of an original artwork inspired by kindness.
They change the design community itself — which, despite the pace of this restless moment in history, chooses to pause and recognize that good communication can be a meaningful force for social transformation.
Revolutions always start with small things. And we like to believe that this spark — made of people sharing a vision, of typographic messages, of thoughtful design — will keep growing and spreading with tenacity, creating a virtuous circle of awareness and human connection.
Twenty Cities, One Global Movement
Across the world, this year twenty cities opened their doors to the Fight For Kindness exhibitions, transforming local cultural spaces into hubs of creativity, reflection, and connection.
From Armenia to Italy, from the United States to the United Kingdom, each location brought its own character, identity, and perspective. And yet, every exhibition echoed the same core idea:
Kindness is not passive — it’s active, intentional, and something we build together.
Each exhibition took on its own visual language, shaped by local curators, designers, and communities. Yet together, they formed a global mosaic — a collective portrait of what kindness looks like when interpreted across cultures and continents.
Florence, Italy – Biblioteca delle Oblate, Sala Sibilla Aleramo
Bringing the exhibition to the city where this project was born on World Kindness Day — made this moment truly meaningful. The exhibition in Florence was held in beautiful Biblioteca delle Oblate — a public library in the historic centre of the city housed in the fourteenth-century Oblate complex from which it takes its name.
Three incredible speakers Debora Manetti, Laura Ottina, and Andrea Bonacchi brought depth and energy to the opening of the exhibition with their presentation and an unexpected collective meditation. A small brindisi in the circle of friends with the Duomo view after the opening was a great ending to the event.
Yerevan, Armenia – TUMO Center for Creative Technologies
The Fight For Kindness exhibition has arrived in Armenia for the very first time — proudly hosted at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies — a nonprofit learning center to empower teens with real-world creative skills.
Adding a special local touch, the exhibition featured posters by talented TUMO students — Aida Gevorgyan, Angelina Antonyan, Hayk Aznawoddian, Mikayel Khudaverdyan, Tigran Paranyan, and Yeva Khachatryan created during a dedicated learning lab led by our Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini (zetafonts), offering a glimpse into how young creatives interpret and express the values behind the movement.
Budapest, Hungary – House of Lucie Gallery
The House of Lucie, gallery and headquarters of the Lucie Foundation, is a modern, inspiring space known for showcasing the Lucie Awards “Wall of Fame” alongside work from local and international photographers. Its clean, contemporary design and welcoming atmosphere created the ideal environment to explore the power of typography and visual storytelling in conveying kindness. Thanks to Anett and Flora from Farmani Group, we had a very participatory exhibition.
Sofia, Bulgaria – L44 Creative Art Café & Hub (part of Melba Design Festival)
The Bulgarian edition of the exhibition organized by our ambassador Nako Bayev returned to L44.space — a creative hub made from creatives for creatives. Despite the problems with electricity on the opening day — the exhibition opened as planned, and the atmosphere was filled with warmth, curiosity, and inspiration. After all, kindness also involves using our devices to bring light (literally) when needed!
Rome, Italy – Betterpress Studio
The exhibition in Rome received a warm welcome at Betterpress, the city’s first movable type printing lab by Francesca and Giulia, in their brand-new space — Betterpress Studio, where printing meets art and design. It was a truly special moment for us to be welcomed as the very first exhibition in this inspiring venue, celebrating together with the energy of the new, incredible spaces for typography expression.
The opening evening was unforgettable, complete with many good friends, a vinyl DJ set, drinks, and a lively, celebratory atmosphere that perfectly matched the spirit of the show.
Pasadena, LA, USA – Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography (HMCT)
The exhibition in Pasadena, LA was hosted at the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography (HMCT) — a hub for typography, graphic design, and language within Art Center College of Design. Known for its exhibitions, workshops, and research programs, HMCT connects academic study with professional practice.
Thanks to Susan and Ximena the opening welcomed designers, students, and visitors in a warm, inspiring atmosphere, making it a memorable start for the exhibition in the US.
Derby, UK – Department Store & Co (hosted by People of Print, Kelsea Locke, and Marcroy Eccleston Smith)
The Fight For Kindness exhibition landed in Derby at Department Store & Co, hosted by People of Print. After six months of renovation, Kelsea and Marcroy opened their doors with 28 stunning international Fight for Kindness posters, good music, drinks and heaps of good vibes. A truly unforgettable evening!
Design That Invites Us to Reflect
Opening events across cities created moments of true connection. People met face-to-face, exchanged thoughts, and engaged in conversations sparked by the artworks. Students explored how typography can hold emotion. Professionals reflected on accountability, empathy, and the role of design in shaping culture. Families discovered that kindness can be playful, expressive, and deeply meaningful.
Thank You for Being Part of It
To everyone who visited the exhibitions, shared stories, created work, volunteered time, collaborated with local teams, or simply carried the message forward — thank you.
Your participation made this global celebration possible, and your kindness is what keeps the movement alive. We’re already looking forward to what the next edition will bring. Until then, keep spreading kindness — in your work, in your community, and in the everyday moments that matter most.
